Pamela's weekly classes · $10 drop-in · all levels

Yoga & Movement

Most mornings at the lodge start with movement. Pamela — co-owner, ISPEF-certified, with more than twenty years of teaching across Pilates, Tae Bo, and movement practice — leads classes at the yoga shala on the property: yoga and Pilates alongside Tae Bo, functional circles, Cardio Dance, and GAPS through the week, with Aqua Gym in the warm Caribbean shallows on calm-sea mornings. $10 per person per class, drop-in welcome, all levels. Private sessions and personal training on request; the current week's timetable is posted at reception.

The practice

The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit root yuj — "to join" or "to yoke" — and is often translated simply as "union": the union of mind, body, and spirit. What most of us call yoga is more precisely asana, the practice of the physical postures. The shala on the property is built for exactly that.

Practising here means the jungle practises with you. Howler monkeys call from the canopy, the sea air off Punta Uva moves through the shala while you hold a posture, and the surf is a short walk away for afterwards. Sessions are unhurried and open to every level — first-timers settle onto a mat next to people who have practised for years.

A week of movement

Yoga shares the shala with the rest of Pamela's weekly programme, so a typical week mixes disciplines — mornings for the energetic classes, with yoga holding the calmer slots: late afternoons midweek and a slower start on Sunday mornings.

  • Yoga — midweek late afternoons and Sunday mornings in a typical week
  • Pilates Flow, plus Pilates "with elements" — rings, balls, and small props
  • Tae Bo workouts — Pamela has taught Pilates and Tae Bo for more than twenty years
  • Circle Functional, Cardio Dance, and GAPS body-conditioning
  • The exact timetable shifts with the seasons — the current week's schedule is posted at reception

Drop in

Classes are $10 per person, and dropping in is the point — no packages, no commitments, just turn up. Every level is welcome, complete beginners included. If you would rather practise one-on-one, Pamela teaches private sessions and personal training by arrangement; reception can set it up. And if the morning class lights something up, her Jungle Fitness programme — Tae Bo, GAPS, Aqua Gym in the sea — runs all week.

● Reception coordinates everything through trusted local guides. You can WhatsApp the lodge at +506 8734 1887 or email stay@treehouselodge.com to add this to your stay at Tree House Lodge.
